The interior of each room is complemented by a colour theme with functional equipment that leaves nothing to be desired, such as flat-screen satellite TV, Internet access or all other utensils necessary for daily hygiene. The bustling town at the foot of the Apuan Alps is the main cultural center of Versilia as well as an important marble processing center for centuries. Local workshops specializing in working with marble, as well as glass and copper, have an excellent reputation, some of it internationally. As an "adopted home for working," Pietrasanta is to this day characterized by the creative activity of important artists and sculptors from many countries and eras. The existing monuments in the historic district of San Martino Cathedral (14th century) and the Palazzo Moroni are interesting documents of the impressive urban structure dating back to the late Middle Ages.
